Bios and Photos about Empowered Living

Thriving Minds, Empowered Lives - Unleash Your Potential at Empowered Living Mental Health Practice.

Joni Morse
Co-Owner

When you think of someone who loves life and people think of me, Joni Morse.

I attended Indianapolis Public Schools for my primary education and graduated from Washington High School.  I received my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Martin University in Indianapolis. I continued my education to receive a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary.

I’m living my best life as a proud mother of one son and one grandson. I have been a part of Empowered Living for over 10 years.

During the past 10 years, I have participated in the staging of the play “The Vagina Monologues” and other community events. Because we are a “holistic therapy practice”, we find unconventional ways to reach prospective clients. We also sponsor the play as part of a fundraiser to develop funds to be able to offer scholarships to those who would otherwise not be able to afford therapy.

I attended the Bloomington Meadows Hospital Annual Mental Health Conference for several years to continue my education and learn new laws and therapeutic techniques.  I love being able to see healing begin in my clients.

Athena Salisbury
COO/Co-Owner

Athena Salisbury, an Indianapolis native, has a heart for others. At times volunteering at a local community  center or donating to a local cause. Athena has a certificate of life coaching and owns a jewelry crafting business,  Goddess Adorn.
While balances entrepreneurship, she finds time to spend time with her fra-mily especially her amazing  grandlove LJ. "Being a mom was challenging and fun but being a Neena
(grandmother) is life changing"
"I believe what I lack in formal education is minimal compared to life experience.  Sure, I wanted to have letters behind my name and be recognized on stage. But my life has taught me more than a book could."  Joining Empowered Living has been an epiphany for Athena.  "I have learned what mental health is, how I should guard my mental health and when to spot others having a break down."  Being a part of Empowered Living has been a game changer in life. Being mentally healthy is also a game changer.  Empowered Living may not be a good fit for you, we encourage you to find a safe place to navigate any feelings you may experience.
